Christine Margiotta is the Executive Director of Social Venture Partners Los Angeles, an engaged philanthropy nonprofit that invests in emerging organizations and leaders to create a more thriving and just Los Angeles. SVP supports disruptive ideas for social transformation through its Systems Change Accelerator and Fast Pitch Program.

She has dedicated her career to harnessing the collective power of Angelenos to create unprecedented large-scale change. For over 15 years, she has leveraged a blend of collective impact, grantmaking, community engagement, and policy change to create progress on a wide range of issues, including homelessness, education, racial and economic justice, and LGBTQ rights.

Prior to joining SVP, Christine was the Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Greater LA, where she led the strategic implementation of their mission to create pathways out of poverty. She designed, launched, and directed Home For Good, the region’s initiative to end homelessness. Home For Good cultivated the collaboration of over 200 cross-sector leaders and leveraged over $1 billion in resources to house 35,000+ of the most vulnerable Angelenos. Home For Good spurred a 59% reduction in veteran homelessness during her tenure and helped lead the design and passage of Measure HHH.

Her work on the Home For Good Funders Collaborative received the Award for Public/Private Partnerships from HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan and the Council on Foundations.

Christine is a graduate of Scripps College and received her MSW from UCLA in 2003. She lives in Claremont with her wife, Becky, and their two children, Huck and Vivian, and she serves as the Chairperson of the L.A. County Measure H Citizen’s Oversight Advisory Board.
